Adding Documents to your Print Queue
In order to print a document from the card swipe printers (Pharos) the document must first be uploaded to an individuals Print Queue. A document can be uploaded to your print queue in one of 3 ways; From a lab computers printer list, from the Mobileprint webpage, or via email attachment. Each method is outlined below
From a Lab Computers Printer List
The Computer labs in Avery, Campus Center, Old Henderson, and Henderson Annex; as well as all Library computers come equipped with the card swipe print drivers. This means, when using these computers, individuals can send print jobs to their print queue as if it were any other printer. This method, while limited to the mentioned locations, is best used if one needs to make specific adjustments to the final print settings.
- When using one of the computer lab or library computers choose the print option in whichever app you are currently using.
- Adjust any desired print options as you would with any other printer (documents are limited to B&W 8.5x11).
- Confirm the print setting by clicking print, continue, ok, etc.
- The Pharos system will prompt you for your username before submitting the document, this is your Bard email address without the @bard.edu ending.
- The document is now in your Pharos print queue. It can be printed now or held for up to 24-hours
From The Moblieprint Webpage
If you want to print a document from a personal device or computer that doesn't have the Pharos print drivers installed, you can use the mobile print webpage. The webpage is only accessible from the campus network, make sure you are connected to the Bard network via wired connection or WIFI before attempting. This option has greater accessibility but less formatting options when submitting your print job. Your document should be formatted for an 8.5x11 page before it is uploaded.
- From a computer or mobile device connected to the Bard network open a web browser and navigate to mobileprint.bard.edu
- Login using your Bard account credentials
- Choose the "Upload" option found on the left hand side of the page
- Navigate to and select your desired documents from your devices file list.
- The document is now in your Pharos print queue. It can be printed now or held for up to 24-hours
As an Email Attachment
This method is best used for uploading documents to your print queue for individuals who don't have access to the campus network or a computer lab computer. It offers the least amount of print setting customization, any documents uploaded using this method should already be formatted as desired before sending the attachment
- Login to your Bard email account
- Compose a new email to mobileprint@bard.edu
- Add your document as an attachment to the email
- You should receive a reply email confirming the document has been uploaded to your print queue.
