Making Scans on a Card Swipe Printer
- Swipe your Bard ID cards magnetic strip on one of the card swipe printers.
- The first screen displayed will be your current print balance, press "Ok" to continue. Faculty and staff: You have access to unlimited printing and will see a print balance of $0.00, this is normal and should not effect your ability to print.
- For single pages or larger format documents place the document face down on the glass platen and gently lower the top to rest on your document. For multiple page documents that are unbound and unstapled; place the stack of documents face up on the top loading tray of the copier.
- Customize any of the scan settings that you wish to change.
- Select "New Destination" to enter in the email address(es) that you wish to send the scan to, or choose "Send to Myself".
- Press the green print button to start the scanning process.
- Along the bottom of the display you will see the status of the job (Processing or Sending).
- Remove originals from the output or imaging tray and check the recipient email account for the file attachment.
FAQ/Troubleshooting

When I swipe my card I see a message saying "user ID not recognized"
This usually happens due to incorrect info in our print system or a damaged magnetic strip. Most often this happens when a users ID card is replaced. Contact the helpdesk to verify your ID details on our print server.

I scanned a document but it's not showing up in my inbox
The scanning and sending process can take a bit of time as they are converted to a .pdf, compiled, and sent through the print server. Check the status at the bottom of the printers display to see if it is still in the processing or sending stage. If after 15 minutes the document still has not been delivered contact the helpdesk for assistance.

My print balance is empty or isn't correct.
The helpdesk is unable to view student account information. If your card is recognized by the machine but there is an issue with your remaining balance contact the student accounts office for assistance.

How do I scan a book or multiple pages of a bound document.
The library has a scanner designed for efficiently scanning books. Contact their front desk for additional information.
