Sharing Folders and Files in Google Drive
Google Drive allows users to share their folders and files with other Bard/Google accounts. Basic instructions on sharing items and managing access permissions in Google Drive can be found below. Some features may be restricted based on the Colleges security policy. - While logged into your Bard account choose Google Drive from the Apps Menu or go to drive.google.com to access your personal Drive.
- Navigate to the folder or file that you wish to share and select "More Actions" > "Share".
- Selecting "Share" again will open up the items access settings. From this window to can provide access to additional users and customize each individuals permission level. There are three levels of access when managing file permissions.
Viewer: The user can access the file but can't edit, comment, suggest, or share it.
Commenter: The user can comment and make suggestions on the file, but can't edit or share it.
Editor: The user can edit, comment, accept or reject suggestions, and share the file.

The General Access section allows the file owner to alter the file accessibility beyond a specific list of individuals. Note that changing the access settings to one of the options below makes the file inherently unsecure and should only be reserved for documents that are intended for public viewing.
Bard College: Allows anyone with an @bard.edu address to access the file
Anyone with the link: Allows anyone with a Google account to access the file
