Filtering messages in Gmail
    
- Go to Gmail and sign in to your account if you aren't already.
- Click the search options icon on the right side of the search bar at the top of the page.
 
In the popup window, fill in the fields you want to filter by using one or more of the following options:
- 
From: filter emails from a specific sender.
- 
To: filter emails sent to a specific address.
- 
Subject: filter by keywords in the subject line.
- 
Has the words / Doesn’t have: filter by specific keywords.
- 
Size: filter based on the size of the email.
 
- Click the Search button to see which emails match your criteria.
- If everything looks good, reopen the search options and click Create Filter
 
Select what you want Gmail to do with matching emails. Options include:
- Skip the Inbox (Archive it)
- Mark as read
- Star it
- Apply the label (you can create a new label here)
- Forward it
- Delete it
- Never send it to Spam
- Categorize as (e.g., Promotions, Social)
- 
"Also apply filter to matching conversations"  will apply it to existing emails. Otherwise the filter will only apply to emails that are sent or received after the filter is created.  
- Click Create filter to finalize and activate the filter.
